What is the average time b4 the wedding that a bride should have their dress???
I ordered my dress through Flowerama back in Feb, and they said that it should be in mid-June... and that if I hadn't receive a call, for me to contact them.
So 6/18, I called them, to inquire about my dress and they kinda beat around the bush and said that the order was up to date & 'on time', and that I will receive the BMs dresses 2nd wk of July, and mine the 3rd wk.
Fine, so I called this weekend (exactly two months to our wedding), to inquire about status, and was told that the girls dress will be in late-July, and mine early-Aug!!!!
I flipped out, and disappointed how they've conducted business with me! I mean, granted, my dress won't need much altering, but what if I decide I wanted another dress? Or what if they send the wrong dress? I won't have much time to pick up the pieces then. I honestly think that if I was a b****, they would respond to me differently, and it sucks that some people take kindness as a weakness!
Arghhhhh!

That is completely insane?? Did you go physically to the shop and raise heII? Maybe whoever you spoke to on the phone is clueless. How they heck could they not get your dress til only a month before? When do they plan on doing your fittings? I would go and speak to the store mgr right away!!
Good luck!!!

That's just it. I spoke to a manager on the phone, and she made it seem like everything will be fine. I just don't think that it's professional that a store would leave someone hanging like that. But of course, they cover their a$$ on the contract by not putting the date the dress would be in (not even approx), and claim that it's normal. That's why I asked you guys...
Thong, I'm sure you have seen your dress already, huh?

I have already had a fitting!! I think you should GO TO THE STORE and speak to the manager directly, she is obviously on crack or cannot read a calendar. Make them call the manufacturer in front of you and find out what the deal is!!!!

Re: My dress STILL not in!
this is what she said (but I just called to speak to the store manager, she will call back):
*The BMs dresses are in Florida, awaiting to clear Customs (apparently, they came from China). So those will be here anywhere from 2-8 days. *My dress in en route, also overseas, and has not arrived the USA. Apparently, the reason for the delay is because of product demand - and they 'took care' of brides according to date (I knew that I should have said I was marrying in Aug!). *All dresses should be here within 1 week to 10days.
Now I don't know about shipping wedding dresses overseas, so I'm thinking 'of that's legit', but i can't get over the fact that I ordered my dress waaaaay back in Feb, AND they told me JUNE. I should be waived alterations or something... lololol

Chichilla, I actually deal with an overseas company in my side job and that customs sh-t can be a real b-tch... How were the dresses shipped? Air? Boat? All that affects the time it takes to get here. I still think you should go there and have this woman explain it to you again, face-to-face... you'll be able to better tell if she is buIIshitting you or not!!

You're right. I'm going to head over there personally, to get an explanation. The part that sucks is that I live in Queens, and the place is in LI. I knew I should have ordered the dress from a more accessible place...

My dress isn't in either. I am not worried yet, but I will be on August 1 if it isn't.

Re: My dress STILL not in!
I had similar issues with my salon.........but inthe end the dress came in 3 weeks before the wedding & I just raised he!! & rode the seamstrss to finish it in time. Luckily mine did not need too many alterations, so it was possible. If you do not have a lot to do, then you should be fine.

What excuses did they give you, and did they compensate you for your stress?

WOW!!! I thought I was the only one!!! I am a week after you and I am hearing the same words from the bridal store I purchased my dress at!!!
And I know from the company that it is a dress designed in 2000 and the company no longer makes it--therefore it must be coming from someone's stock room!!!!
Good luck and hope you hear good news soon!!!!!!!!!

Thanks again ladies. I'm sure that everything will turn out well, I just wished that I wasn't part of that small % with complications... then again, I'd rather deal with it, then let you guys deal with it.

Apparently. After months of smooth sailing, sh*t starts crashing down within the 2month mark (for me, anyway...).
