So when my FI bought my e-ring he bought a size 6.25 finger and im a 5. So needless to say the ring is HUGE on me and so when i went to get it sized the jeweler said he has to make me a new ring bc if he starts shaping my ring to fit me, all my pave set diamonds will pop out. Anyway, he put a guard on my ring for now and it just broke in half and now my ring is sliding all over my finger. I ordered my 'new' ring April 20something and they said itll take 10 weeks so now..... i either have to take my ring off or suffer w. it being so loose.

My ring is SIMILAR to this but my band is a bit thicker and set in pave all around the sides and front of band so you can prob. better visualize why he couldnt reshape to fit me

Sorry to hear about your ring...If they are making a new one, why not tape the bottom of the ring to mock a guard...At least you will still be able to wear it!

I tried that when i first got it and the tape was SOOOO unbelieveably itchy and annoying Thanks though

I know the feeling of not wearing it and the most I had w/out it was a week. Time will fly and you will have ur new e-ring. I agree w/trying to put a ring guard to wear the one you have now. I also hope its insured, just in case.

I would not want to go w/o wearing me ring either! I would try another ring gaurd, maybe they have a stronger one at your jewler.

Aw, so sorry sweetie!! Could you try putting a band-aid on that finger and then fit the ring over it? It should make your finger a lil thicker and help hold your ring in place for the time being. Hope your new one comes in soon!!!

my ring was big when i first got it and i got a temp guard. It scratched the platinum so i purchased plastic ring guards. they are awesome and the good thing is you can easily take them on and off yourself....
i purchased them on the below website, just do a search for ring guards..they are $3 for 10!
What kind of guard do you have? I saw a lot of metal guards and didnt like it. FI bought me some plastic guards and they work like a charm. If you want I can send you one, so you don't have to worry about loosing your precious in the meantime!

Hey Michele, why don't u try medical tape, it's softer and wont itch. I would not, not put anything on it it's risky

I would go to Target or Kohls and get a cute CZ type ring to wear instead of your real ring. My ring had to be repaired, and this is what we did. My fake ring was only $10 and worked perfectly for the week I didn't have my ring. No one even noticed.

Awww I'm sorry to hear about your ring....I'm sure your new one will come in no time. I had a similar problem when I got mine resized. My FI got like a size 7 ring and I'm only a size 5. The jewler originally said that he had to be careful in the way it was cut because all of the stones could just pop all out. In this case, he cut my band, but it's no longer a perfect circular band, it's elliptical. No one would ever know unless I took it off to show them. I was so afraid they'd have to take my ring...I didn't care if it was elliptical or not. But I feel your pain...I hope that all works out with it. Just be careful that you don't lose your original with it being so big. I would maybe see if you can get a temporary ring guard!! Some jewlers have them. Good luck!!

Ditto! I have the balls - my ring is 5 and i'm less than 4 1/2 but its engraved all around and I didn't want to cut the engraving!! The balls are so comfortable and not even noticeable!! I had a ring guard originally and it scratched by platinum ring very badly!! Good luck it will work out!!!

Ohhh sorry to hear about your ring.
Can't you put on a ring guard that you put on yourself. They sell plastic guards that are very easy to put on your ring and it really does keep your ring in place. I know you are probably thinking Plastic. But No one can even see it because its on the bottom of your ring. At least you can wear your ring until you get your knew one. Just a thought.

Did you try wrapping thread around the bottom of the band? You need a lot of it, but it does the same thing as tape, but much more comfortable.
