So, two things. First--insurance! Second: my engagement ring is only on my finger, or in my jewelry box. I NEVER take it off otherwise. It never sits next to the sink while I wash a few dishes, or in the bathroom cabinet while I take a shower. If I have to take it off for some reason, it goes into the jewelry box. If I think there's any reason I might want to take it off, like at the gym, it stays home. (My wedding ring never comes off. Period.)
