I haven't posted for a while because I was so busy planning for my e-party and the holidays but I wanted to share my review and some pictures from the big day!!
We rented out a Greek Restaurant called Ammos in NYC on December 30th. We had roughly 150 people and we had the entire restaurant to ourselves for 7 hours!!! We opted to have a cocktail party/open bar for the entire time AND a live Greek band. We wanted to do something very light and fun, and reminiscent of a fun night out at Greek bouzoukia (aka Greek nightclub) and sure enough, the night turned out EXACTLY as we had envisioned it. The only issue that we had was that we really anticipated MORE food and was a little disappointed by what we actually got that night, but we didn't let that bother us in the least. We just kept dancing and pretty much said 'it is what it is'.
I was so satisfied with the way that things turned out that I actually said that I didn't want to have a wedding after our party because there was no way we could top it, but of course now, I am so excited and eager to start planning. My only issue now is that I can't decide on whether I want a wedding HERE or in Greece (but I'll save that for another post)
Anyhoot, here are some pictures!!

Thanks SO MUCH everyone!! I wound up getting my dress at OZ on Austin Street in Forest Hills and it was a Tony Bowls dress. I HIGHLY recommend this store because it has SUCH a wide selection and I love that the dresses are color coordinated (for easy shopping!). The salespeople are also knowledgable and available without being overbearing (hate that!)
Yes, the decision for the wedding is a big one. I'm sure I will be tapping into your resources and asking a zillion questions of everyone on here before I make my decision..LOL!
Advice for the girls who still haven't had their e-party: JUST HAVE FUN!! Do not worry about anything and just do what makes you happy!!!
Here are some more pictures:
In the first two pictures you can see how much money was thrown to the band. In Greek tradition you throw money to the couple while they dance. In the past, that money went to the couple but now the band gets to keep it (damnit LOL!)
Ooo i like danielle's hair like that, very pretty and matina of course always looking fabulous.
I LOVE OZ too, its where i got my e-party dress from and FMIL bought her MOG dress from there too.

Honestly, Ammos was really great!!! If you are interested in speaking to someone, I can pass on their contact info and you can tell them you are a friend of mine. They have two locations (Astoria and Manhattan) and both are really pretty and the food is EXCELLENT!!!
Mrs D--hi! I am actually finding teaching to be MUCH easier (although this week was hard with the tests and all) but I can't wait until the year is over. I'm only a little nervous because our school will not have as much of a need for Sp. Ed teachers next year and that means that I might be excessed (sp?). SO, if you hear of any openings later on this year for NEXT year, let me know!!
Don't worry too much about excessing... they always threaten that! I'll keep my ears open about any special ed jobs... I work in Astoria, that would be perfect for you!
