My Engagement Party Planning Begins

Happy Monday All

So yesterday i went to go check out the place in New Jersey to have the engagement party on Apr. 23rd. It is such a nice place. It has like 3 floors a big dancefloor the works. It can fit like 500+ people. I am only having 60-75 people though. The place is about 1hr from everyone in LI and like 20 min away from Manhattan. Do you ladies think that this sounds reasonable?

So now I have to start getting the invites ready, which I'll probably make. My colors are light pink and black.

Anyone else planning there engagment party right now?

Where in New Jersey?

Mine will be this weekend, at my FH's firehouse in Jersey.

I was there last night and I am so excited. We are doing a perfect pair(pear) theme and everything is green and gold.

After Christmas I got stuff for 75% off - from green and gold striped table cloths, to serving bowls, plates with pears on them etc. It was great. FMIL got a HUGE sign made up in green and gold...that says congrats.

I went and got all the soda and snacks, we are having it catered and FH got the wine and will get the beer. For fun we are doing Sangria and even bough at Linens and Things one of those tubs you might see at a restuarant that you can out 3 gallons of juice in and it comes out a spout! So cutie.

I am sooooo excited for this weekend~ It's a lot of fun to plan and I did it little by little and now all I have to do is set up and make the centerpieces (flowers in tall vases with pear wreaths). I'll be sure to post pics afterwards!

im thinking that we are having one at FI's house... and doing a casino theme... set up a whole bunch of gambling games and such. FI and his boys love playing cards!

For FH's grad.party we did that - had someone come in and do it and it was awesome.

i'd love to do some sort of game or something...what else do you do at a party?

That's the EXACT same day as my E-Party!!!!! It's going to be at The Beach Club in Rockaway Park. As for the drive to your party, that is not TOO bad. What time would the party be? Do you both live in NJ?

Do you live in the Rockaways? I work here and might as well live here for all the time I spend in this place. The Beach Club is a great place!!

Oh mine is going to be April 24th!! We wanted a Saturday but we are having it at a Knights Of Columbus and people had communions booked since October!! Don't they know that my E-Party is way more important than their communion???!! JK

So we FINALLY have a date set for the e-party. I swear if FH and I did it ourselves it would've been done WEEKS ago. April 9th it is! Now we also have to get rolling with the hand made invites. We also have to come up with some favors. Already started making our STD's. FUN FUN FUN
