My engagement ring is ready!!

Hi Everybody!

I've been posting on this board for a few months now and have loved reading everyone's responses to excellent questions and issues that have come up in the planning process. I'm not even officially engaged yet so have not had much to offer, but want to share my good news as I get closer to becoming one of the 'betrothed crowd'!

My boyfriend and I have been together for about 5 and a half years and living together for 2. We knew we'd get married for a while now, and finally decided to start looking at rings. I found one I loved, and we picked out a center stone, and now it's arrived! So he picked it up and I have to wait for him to propose, b/c I want to be at least somewhat surprised and have part of a tradition. (so far we have bucked all tradition). I think it will happen before Thanksgiving.

Anway, thanks for letting me be here when I'm not even in the group yet - but I am really excited!!!!

Congrats!!! I know how exciting this 'wait' can be, but let him surprise you with the ring. I promise it will be worth the wait. You will stare at it for hours once it is on your finger.

michele is so right, actually i still stare at mine almost 1 yr later. i think all us ladies do! i knew i was getting enaged. i thought for xmas. but he surprised me on our trip to aruba last year in september! i was shocked, didn't expect it then!
