My experience at Tellers in Islip

My experience at Tellers in Islip

The food was good but we were asked to move to the bar because they needed the table. They had the chutzpa to come over to our table while we were finishing our dessert and tell us that they needed the table for another party, but they could put some tables together for us in the bar. They didn't even offer us a drink or anything. We made a reservation for 7:30 and this was at 10:00. My boss took us out for our holiday party so ther were 6 of us. We all had appitizers and dessert and at least 1 drink. The bill must have been over $600 and we were asked to leave. We will never go there again. Not to mention, how can they charge $5 for a baked potatoe?

ETA: I forgot to say they messed up the leftovers. I went to reheat my spinach ($8) and it was my co-workers wifes steak. How hard is it go get that right?

I am sorry you didn't have a good experience there. That was rude that they told you to move before you were done. We went there recently and had a great experience. Sorry about that. Did you guys complain?-( .

No fun! I really hate when restaurants push people out... I know they need the tables, but still!

Thanks for the warning!

That is terrible! Did anyone call after the meal to complain? My husband has been there a few times with the guys from work, but I havent. I am not a big meat eater. He does have a 50 dollar certificate there that we just realized expired. I am big on the service received at restaurants, so that would make me very upset!

Sorry you had a bad experience there. Its their fault. When I used to work in a restuarant, for a partt of 6 you had to give at least 2 1/2 to 3 hours for the table. Sometimes, if it ran over, we would ALWAYS ask if they would go to the bar and we would ALWAYS buy them drinks.

I went there on Christmas eve, and although the food was good, the service was not so great....also, a la carte gets on my nerves! I hate the idea that I have to buy my vegetable in addition to an overpriced piece of meat! DH loved it, but I would much rather go to Trumpets or the country House for a nice dinner!
