I'm not very close with my family. I had a crazy life growing up and well... everyone is just so dysfunctional. Still, my parents said that they were coming to the wedding. Then all of a sudden they changed their phone number (without telling me) and told my sister that they didnt want to come to the wedding because I probably talk bad about them! I've tried talking to my mother but she is pretty crazy and there is just no sense in anything they say!
Today was my sister's babyshower (only one of my brothers and me showed up from my family). I was talking to him about the wedding and he suddenly turned to me and said, 'why are you trying to force everyone to go to your party when no one wants to go'. He was reffering to my wedding.
My feelings are really hurt. I came home and cried till i had a headache. And while FH is supportive; he hugged and kissed me and said things like, 'well then i dont want them there anyway if they are going to upset you like this!' He doesnt understand how I feel because his family is great. Im so upset.
Wow! I can definitely relate, I'm sorry for what you have to go through. MY FH has the same story with some of his family. But your FH is right. You don't need them there if all they are going to do is be skeptikal and judgemental. It will get better

im so sorry. i just dont understand some people! my fhs mother is going to be the only person hes related to at the wedding. i feel bad (after the whole drama with his uncle & the wedding invite) they sent back the rsvp on the last day and also said that his gma (who already responded yes) would not be attending. I just dont get these people. So i totally understand where your coming from. please remember to keep your head up-and enjoy your day. your not forcing anyone to come. its their loss!

First I want to say thank you for the beautiful ornaments. I love them and you read me so well.
Second, I am so sorry that family can really crap on us. I truly understand. This is a day for you and your FH, if they don't want to come that is their problem. Sometime family is not by blood and they make you feel better and come through for you. You can also FM me on venting. I am here, stay strong.

I'm so sorry that your going through this ! My fiance and his family have a similar story and are barely making it to the wedding! I know its hard, but just try and focus on the new family you are starting with you fiance! The future is what you make it, so start by being optamistic and realize that you are loved! I wish you an amazing day, I know it will be everything you ever wanted and more!

i am so so so sorry that you are going through this. maybe this will make you feel better... my cousin's hubby... when they were getting married his family wanted nothing to do with them. it was a horrible relationship and no on thought thye would ever speak. sad for my cousin cause my aunt (her mom) passed away when she was 16 and now didn't really have in-laws and he had no one. his bros came to the wedding. a few years later then ended up reconciling and altho the parents live in FL, they visit often and have made up for lost time. of course we all know they can never go back and be at the wedding, but hey no thought anyone would ever speak again. i know it hurts, but you can't stress over it too much, unfortunately it is out of yout control and we can all hope that some day they wake up.... i will pray for that for you.
