my Father drives me crazy....

I think he has been in AZ too long and forgets the real world of fashion and customs.

We is traveling from AZ for e-party and does not want to wear a suit. He's packing light? What ???He's coming for our party.

It's not a fancy party, but I am sure my FFIL will be and others. How can the father of the bride to be not wear one?

I even mentioned to him that they will be wearing one.

I am really starting to dread this party.

hmm, sounds like my FH. he avoids suits like the plague.
can you tell dad just to do it so you can show him off? flattery sometimes helps. maybe ask him to do it as a special favor? maybe beg and whine?
i'm sure he'll come around.

I dunno.. I could care less how my dad looks.. I love him so much it's stupid. He used to be really really really big. Nothing would close over his chest.. and pants were horrible. He's lost so much weight he's a 1X now.. im so happy.. I grew up with people laughing at my dad and making fun of how fat he was.. I learned.. he's Dad.. he never embarasses me.. (at least not with his appearance)

I get what you mean tho.. My dad wants to wear a suit for my wedding.. the Father of the BRIDE!!! I just said.. 'Dad, love ya.. but no' heh

perhaps he can wear a sports jacket that is made out of material that won't wrinkle when packed?

or maybe he can wear nice pants and a tie with shirt?

maybe, on the other hand, could you ask FH not to wear a suit? That way your dad won't feel underdressed? A nice pair of dress slacks, shirt and tie would look 'dressy/casual' I think (with dress shoes).

I'm sure it will all work out.

Where is your E-Party

Yeah I think I am going to my my FH wear only a shirt and dress pants, maybe tie too. It's not intended to be fancy. It's at a local lodge.

Edit: for the wedding, I am hoping he will just rent a suite (since he does not have a tux)
