We were talking wedding stuff last nite and in our conversation i told him how proud I was of myself that we are keeping the wedding under 18K. He looked shocked and said... now get this... '18K why so much?'. I had to go down the list and then tell him how the average wedding is more than that. He is still living in the the 1960's. He just has no idea how much things are. So clueless!!!!!

i hear about how my parents paid $4000 for their whole wedding in 1981.
also my grandma tells me about how she paid $5 to get married at the church and how i should have a wedding reception like her ummm no thanks grandma its not 1949.

haaha yeah weddings are over rated. You don't know how much everything costs until it's your time! I came into this thinking my budget would be like xx and it's about double now!
I know - I am shocked at the cost sometimes myself after it all adds up. Did you tell him that you are actually keepin cost down and that an wedding under 20k in NY is almost unheard of?

yes i did and he still thinks its crazy. he should be proud that he raised a daughter that can bargain her *** off!
