MY FBIL IS A JERKWAD AND ISN'T COMING TO THE WEDDING! (VENT!)

okay, so i'm sure many of you remember my issue with my FBIL who crossed out the '2' in # of places we reserved on the RSVP and changed it to a '7' so he could bring his rugrats. (even though a month earlier we told him no kids and he said 'ok')

well we've been unable to get in contact with FBIL for weeks. we heard thru my FFIL that FBIL said he was going to come, but only with his oldest son (16) and leaving the kids at home with the wife. well FH calls him last nite and finaly gets him on the phone, and asks 'So when are you flying in, and did you get your hotel handled?' and FBIL says 'Oh yeah...um...was meaning to call you...I can't go' W T F ?????

he gives this B.S. about how he has a lot on his plate right now, working 3 jobs, etc. and can't go cause of it. funny, cause a few weeks ago you had no problem saying you were gonna take your rugrats out of school for a week so you could DRIVE all the way from Colorado for the wedding. so FH is like 'When the fuk were you gonna tell me this?' and FBIL says 'well i don't have time to even scratch my nose, i'm so busy'

i am so angry right now...i can't believe this dikwad is doing this to his brother TEN FARKING DAYS BEFORE THE WEDDING! i mean, when was he gonna tell us? had FH not tracked him down? was he gonna wait until like the nite b4? i don't understand this behavior...it's disgusting.

You are right it is disgusting but that's family for ya! Oh Melissa I am sorry that you and FH have to deal with this the week beofre your wedding!

at that point, I would have had FH say, 'Just to let you know, you are no longer invited to the wedding, so even if you did change your mind, you're not welcome.' Then hang up the phone.

so sorry you have to go through this...if it makes you feel better, FSIL is no longer invited to our wedding..

At least you won't be stressed with having them there at your wedding, then trying to pull this sh!t, so that is a plus.

Sorry fbil is suck a diick. But at least you don;t have to worry about him showing up with is kids now. He will regret not going one day and will have no one to blame but himself.

isn't family the best? He needs to put his brother before himself for ONE day...jeez. Who wants their kids at a wedding to begin with? I'll never understand that. so sorry you have to deal with this.

Damn that’s messed up. I ALWAYS say wedding and funerals will reveal who your TRUE people (family & friends) are. On the bright side at least you don’t have to worry about his rugrats at the wedding.

what a petty diick. People can be such asssholes. Was he trying to punish you guys? It's only going to haunt him later in life - not you and your FH.

Look on the bright side - you're getting married in 10 days to the most wonderful man you've ever met, you guys are living together, you're going to have a fabulous HM and live happily ever after!
