My FH upgraded to bigger room at Westbury Manor-think he is jumping gun...

So..

When we booked WM we had to fill 100 people, 140 max ( Garden Room).
So our list grew and grew. At first we had 100 then since max is 140, he wanted to invite more. FINE.
Then the list grew to 160 . I told him fine; 20% say no.
HE INSISTED I call and get bigger room.
I said no, people will say no. He said not to worry, he can invite more people and didn't want us at 140 squashed, anyways...

So he calls me this am and did upgrade (Manor Room).
We have to fill 140 people.

I pray we get that.

What happened to my small wedding???

Wow I can't believe he did that when you told him Guess there's not much you can do about it now, start making an A and B list...

yeah you will def need to invite closer to 200 now to make sure you get 160 ppl to come.

is there anyway you can switch back to the smaller room?

I made a mistake...the min in Manor is 140..so it's a little better.

oh thats good...so u can invite like 175-180 instead of 200.

My FH is a person who is impulsive...
He said he doesn't want people squished.
Hey, if he can get more people, then let him...
I can think of a few to invite on my side more now...My Mom will be happy that I can invite relative's (older) kids that I couldn't before...

I kinda wanted a small wedding BUT I understand since my Father's passing, we need a big celebration.

The positive thing is ceremony got bumped by half hour and we are doing pics before. I let photographer know...

I am just scared..all those people..I don;t like a lot of attention and I am surprising FH with a song I will sing to him...Stagefright much???

That's good that you found out the minimum is 140. My best friend's reception was in that room - so pretty!

I got a min of 150 in that room

My BM told me that if I had less than 150 people it wouldn't look good so you might want to consider that.

I kind of agree with him on this one. My sisters husband is a chef and he has worked at catering halls. He went with me to take a look at the place I wanted to book and at first I was going to go with the smaller room that held a max of 130. My bro-in-law told me that if the guest count would be even 120, people would start to feel a little packed. He said that if the room has a max of 120 then the guest list should be something like 100 so people have room to move and party. So... if your FH was thinking of accommodating the guests the day of by upgrading the room that's cool. You don't want people to feel like canned sardines in there! Hope this helps make you feel a bit less stressed about guest lists! Besides, I would rather there were more room than not enough.
