My fiance's family

My fiance's family

So I have been with my fiancé for 6 years.. He is not close to his family at all. He never calls or sees them except for one of his brothers. He says he does not want them at the wedding as he feels like they would ruin the whole day. What do I do?????

If he barely talks to them then do you know them? Is he not inviting anyone from his family or would he invite his brother? There are obviously alot of issues that I just don't know about so its hard to give advice. If your not close with his family then it shouldn't be a big deal if he doesn't want them there. You and FH need to talk about this.

I do know of them.. There are a couple of issues, they are horrible people. It is a lot to get into, but it has not been pleasant. He is inviting his brother though. I feel like it should not be an issue but it just makes me feel so uncomfortable that he is not inviting them!!

I think that this is something that you should both take some time and think about and then talk over together. Ultimately, I feel that it should be his decision as it is his family and if he feels that strongly about not having them there, I think you should honor his request (assuming he has thoroughly thought this through). It is his special day too.

i don't think you should invite them ... but make sure it's a decision your FH is comfortable with ... will he regret it after the wedding day?

I would try to talk about it again with FH just to make sure he won't regret it afterwards, but honestly, I wouldn't push it. It's his family, and his decision if he wants them there or not. I can totally relate, thankfully the family I don't want at our wedding lives in Europe

I'm going to a through a similar situation with my fiancee.
Don't invite them. If he doesn't want them there, they shouldn't be there.
