My first attempt....

My first attempt....

at DIY escort cards! Keep in mind I cut the white card by hand and on the real thing I'll use a paper-cutter. I'm thinking of doing them in orange, pink and blue (our colors). I'll print out the white part for now, leave them be til we get RSVPs and then just fill in the table # and stick it on the colored tent card when we need them.

So, what do you think? Are they ok or do they look like a 7 year olds art project? Be honest!!!!

ETA: Pics were to large so they are on my album!

They look great! Where did you get the cards from? This is a good idea!

Thanks!

I got the template for the white part from this website:

http://www.lcipaper.com/blog/make-your-own-layered-wedding-place-cards.html

I did notice, unless its just me, that the sheet they give you for cutting instructions didn't match up so I kinda just went with it.

You can probably buy the tent cards straight from their website.

For the tent card I used, I used this machine my sister let me borrow (big into scrapbooking and DIY stuff) called a Silhouette SD? Its pretty neat, cuts stuff out for you onto card stock and they happen to have a tent card for $.99 so I tried it out.

The template for the white part had to be resized for it to fit on the tent card I used but it all worked out, wasn't too tricky to figure out.

I love that I can type it all out now, save the file and print it out before the wedding and all I have to fill in are table #'s instead of writing out the entire thing.
