My First Fitting

If any of you read my other post you know all about the stress the place I ordered my gown from has been putting me through. If you didn't read it they basically never ordered my dress this whole year even after I placed numerous calls and e-mails to them to find out where it was. Every time I was told it would be in the following week. I found out a few days ago it was never in fact ordered so they overnighted it.

Today I had my first fitting and there are some things about my dress that concern me including when I called Maggie Sottero they had no record of my order nor had they ever heard of this store. I got numerous FM from other ladies about problems they had that worried me. My dress is also supposed to be rhapsody taffeta and inside the tag says 100% polyester. Is this normal? For all I know, maybe it is supposed to be that way. I lost almost 40 pounds since they measured me so it needs a lot of work. In the pictures you can see it pinned on the sides. It's not falling right on me, but maybe that will change when it's fixed.

My mom was so sure this was a different dress that she went to the original store where I had found the dress to look at the sample. It felt and looked different and there was no tag inside saying polyester

I'm sooooo glad to hear that your dress has finally arrived!

I think it will look great once the sewing is done, and its not pinned.

Not sure about the polyester vs. tafetta.

Are there any other LIWers with the same dress you can ask?

Also, if you want to compare to the pics I took from my first fitting, their in my album (even though it's a different color, you can still compare).

I'm sorry you're going through all this...on a lighter note, whether or not this dress is MS, whether or not it's pinned to death in that pic...you look truly beautiful in it!!

I ordered mine from Lillette's in Baldwin.

taffeta is polyester; unless it is silk taffeta which would be like 3x the price

wait until the alterations are done
but its odd that the MS company never heard of the store? i thought they had to be authorized maggie sellers
