I had my first dress fitting type of meeting this weekend. I am wearing my grandmothers dress from the 40's so it has to have some tears fixed and I am having the top redone to make it more appropriate to the times. The dress fit me like 2 years ago then i started going to the gym and it wouldn't button all the way at my back. Well I have been really slacking since decemeber on the gym and it fits me again!! But I want to tone my stomache for my wedding and honeymoon- but the seamstress said this will make me lose inches in one place but gain inches in another. Im not sure what to do! I guess she could prolly add fabric and make it a little bigger, but i dunno how hard this will be. Thoughts?
Also, She said to have the dress cleaned before she begins working on it. Do you think I'll have to have it cleaned again after she is done? Cus they have to send it to Montreal to clean it so I imagine it will not be cheap to have done twice.

For the cleaning, I would definitely have it done before she starts working on it. I don't *think* you'll need to do it again until after the wedding - seamstresses tend to keep the dresses pretty clean. I'm sure it will have to be pressed but hopefully that's it.
As for exercising - hmmm, that's a toughie. I would probably just work on abs and maybe arms (not shoulders/chest) - that shouldn't make your dress tighter in the back or stomach area.

that happened to me i was working out a lot and was gaining wait.. i quit... but besides that I would love to see pics of this dress can you post?? thats amazing you still have the dress and its usable!!

I dont have any pics! :( I have pics at my parents house of my grandma wearing it at her wedding, but I dont have any on my computer that i could post. I will deef have to post a before and after when it is all done. Im super excited about it!! Its really special and will be really pretty I think! :)
