We're going to see a photographer tomorrow for the first time. What should I look out for. Any suggestions on what to ask, how to haggle if needed. I'm so bad a this.

Re: My first photographer appointment....
look at lots of albums to get a sense of their style and what the final outcome will be
get a clear list of what you're getting for what price, especially hours and whether or not they give you digital files for your proofs (some don't, believe it or not).
feel out the person for a level of comfort. if you're on edge around your photog, it's going to show in your pics.
have fun! we loved meeting photographers!

Re: My first photographer appointment....
Along with quality and price, customer service and comfort level was very important for us.
The other thing that was important was seeing ALL the photos from a wedding, not just the ones that the photographer liked enough to put into an album. So, ask the photographer if he/she can show you all the proofs from a recent wedding (or a wedding similiar to yours). There should be no reason for the photographer to say no...all they have to do is enter a customer's password into the online proof area and you can see the photos on the computer in the photographer's office. If they say it's too many photos, then ask to see the photos from just the ceremony, or the getting-ready or whatever.

Re: My first photographer appointment....
i asked the same question. I was clueless as to how to choose. My advice is to go in there with an open mind, take everything in, note things you like, and dont like, and then get a price, i would go and see a few other photographers to compare, b/c everyone is different, it just depends on what you are looking for. I sat with 4 different ones before i found 'the one' and at the right price! Good Luck!

Re: My first photographer appointment....
what was important to me is ask if the photographer you're meeting with is the photographer you'll get for your wedding...some places have a staff of several photographers. If not, ask if you can see their work.
