My first post!!!!!

I got engaged this weekend!!!!!! My boyfriend proposed at a bed and breakfast overlooking the mountains in Tennesee. on Saturday night! I am so excited!!!

I am so happy that I found this board. I have been reading it for some time and everyone seems so nice and helpful!

I can't wait to start planning the wedding. We plan on getting married in 2007. I plan on checking out some places next week since I will be starting a new job at the end of the month and will be planning the wedding from the City.

I am interested in getting married on a Saturday night in the late fall and want to spend no more than $120 WITH tax and grat. for around 175 people. I am interested in looking at:

Watermill
Hamlet Wind Watch
CLM
Metropolitan
North Ritz Club
Sandcastle
Harbor Links
Island Hills Country Club

Are these places in this range? Any other places that are in this range that I am missing? I would prefer to be the only bride but won't rule out other places, just don't want wedding a place that has more than 2 weddings at a time.

I believe a month ago there was no Saptember Saturdays left and only one or two October Saturday...

Welcome and Congrats!!! I think a LOT of these places are going to go over your budget. I would call them and check them out, but off this list I can pretty much tell you that you wont get most of these places on a Sat night for $120 with tax and grat. If you really love these places, you might want to consider a sat day or Friday or Sunday wedding.

For example, a price of $100/person is REALLY $128.21/person with 18% gratuity and then 8.65% tax included (YES they tax the gratuity and YES you still have to tip everyone regardless)

Watermill-Def gonna be over $100 (for 2006 we got quoted $125 on a Sat night)
Hamlet Wind Watch (not sure of price)
CLM (this is probably the best bet for your budget on this list)
Metropolitan (not sure of price)
North Ritz Club (NO WAY is this going to be in your budget)
Sandcastle (I think this is gonna be over your budget)
Harbor Links (Not sure of price)
Island Hills Country Club (Dont know about this one at all)

I don't know how far you want to look, but Mediterranean Manor in Patchogue was amazing to us! We looked at other places and fell in love with it. You have to go in there to appreciate it! They treated us like family for the entire time we were engaged and went over and beyond great on our wedding day. Total, it was under $80 per person, including tax and gratuity.

We booked CLM! It was the first and only place we saw and we fell in love with it.. Plus the prices are extremely reasonable!

First, welcome.

Second, try the Swan Club as well. We lucked up and will be the only wedding...in the fall, you could do the same. Their prices are phenomally low and yet the setting and service is amazingly wonderful. All choices are great...but with a budget, it's good to be open-minded.
