congrats and welcome!!! Just negiotate. Each hall has different packages, so it all really depends on how much food is important to you and your FH!

That price is definitely doable at the Hamlet Wind Watch (I assume you mean the one in hauppauge?)

yes, sand castle Absolutely falls within your price range... if you can get over the moat and the knights (sorry, i find them to be cheesy), go take a look at the rooms- they are absolutely Gorgeous, high ceilings, beautiful hardwood floors; they hold large parties, the FOOD is Amazing- to me, all these catering halls have cardboard chicken and frozen veggies... its all the same to me- but i had been to a wedding there once and i couldnt believe how good the food was. my entire family agreed- not easy with the greeks!

if you look at sand castle and arent too fond of the decor, you can always check out their 2nd place - floral terrace

Yes, the Hamlet in Hauppage. I really like that hall so far but I am just concerned it might not be big enough for around 175. I guess I will go there and see.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions- My hunt starts next week and will keep you posted. I am sure I will have some follow-up questions for everyone.
