My first post!!!!

I got engaged this weekend!!!!!! My boyfriend proposed at a bed and breakfast overlooking the mountains in Tennesee. on Saturday night! I am so excited!!!

I am so happy that I found this board. I have been reading it for some time and everyone seems so nice and helpful!

I can't wait to start planning the wedding. We plan on getting married in 2007. I plan on checking out some places next week since I will be starting a new job at the end of the month and will be planning the wedding from the City.

I am interested in getting married on a Saturday night in the late fall and want to spend no more than $120 WITH tax and grat. for around 175 people. I am interested in looking at:

Watermill
Hamlet Wind Watch
CLM
Metropolitan
North Ritz Club
Sandcastle
Harbor Links
Island Hills Country Club

Are these places in this range? Any other places that are in this range that I am missing? I would prefer to be the only bride but won't rule out other places, just don't want wedding a place that has more than 2 weddings at a time.

Congrats and Welcome!!! I don't know much about all of these except Watermill, Hamlet Wind Watch in Commack and CLM. Watermill should have prices in that range but they can have more then one wedding at a time. The Hamlet in Commack only has 1 wedding at a time but I don't know the prices. CLM should have prices in the range and but I think they also have 2 weddings at a time. HTH.

Hi There
Congratulations on your engagement!

I don't know anything about the other places, but my fiance and I did look at the North Ritz Club recently. It's very pretty, and we liked that there is only one event at a time. However, for a Saturday night in Oct of '07 you're looking at more than $120 a person, plus their minimum is 225 people for Sat. nights.

Also, keep in mind that September and October are considered 'peak' months (I did not know this). All the places we looked into had drastic price differences between September/October and November (except for the Fox Hollow).

We just booked our venue a few months ago and everything is still pretty fresh in my mind, so feel free to message me if you have any questions. We looked at NRC, Fox Hollow, Westbury Manor, and Woodbury Country Club (where our wedding will be).

Re: My first post!!!!

Congrats! Good luck with your planning.

I am not sure about the places you listed, but I am not sure how well you'll do at the Hamlet. I just looked at the Hamlet in Commack for October 14, 2007 (a Sunday) and they wanted $125.00 a head and were not at all flexible with the price and what to offer

I know Villa Lombardi's is approximately 115.00 a head on a Saturday if that helps

Also, try the Venetian and Jericho Terrace

good luck

Re: My first post!!!!

Congrats! I have just recently booked my hall, and I went with the Sandcastle, I love that place and I think that you should be able to get that price for that amount of people over there. I just went there for a bridal showcase and they mentioned that if you booked your wedding from now to the end of July that they would give you the Full Viennese hour for free! I thought that that was the greatest thing ever, so if you go there make sure you mention to them that you heard that if you were to book your wedding in the month on July that you get that free.

Good Luck!
