Congrats! How did he do it???

He took me to dinner in the city as we have not had 'date night' in a long time. I didn't want to go, it was hot, he had a long week, I was fine with staying home. So we went to S.P.Q.R. in LIttle Italy. I was getting suspicious but I didn't see a ring box in his pocket so I just assumed I was wrong.
Then he tells me he has a surprise as an early birthday present. (My birthday is later on this month). We go up to 72nd & 5th. Central Park - I was clueless. He takes me to the Boat House, which by the way is really cool! We sat at the bar and had a drink. Next thing you know he takes me over to the dock and tells me that my surprise is a gondola ride. Thankfully at this point the wine at dinner had me relaxed. LoL
We get on our little boat and we are chatting with the guy rowing us around, he's singing. Next thing you know we just go under the walkway and he's getting down on one knee. I almost died! My reaction was crying and laughing at the same time. Wouldn't you know that when he asked me he did get on his knee and when he looked up the whole walkway was full of tourists and someone somewhere has our picture!
To make this a million times more special my mother gave him my grandmothers ring! He took her centerstone and got me my own setting
After our ride we called our parents and brothers. Then we headed back to Staten Island and had drinks with some friends, my brother, & SIL. I couldn't have been a more perfect night!
