My First Post- WOODEN FLOORS

Newly engaged!!!! I've always wanted to be a part of these chats pre engagement- whoo hooo!!! I am excited for lots of chats to come. :)

I am starting to look at venues.

I have a random request in what I am looking for. I would really like a room with all hard wood floors. I am not a fan of the carpets that surround the dance floor at most places.

I have been searching and so far Ive come up with:

Bourne Mansion
Fox Hollow (the new room I think?)

Any other suggestions?

i think Old Field Club has them as well

I booked Fox Hollow Somerely Room (the new room( and it has all wood floors. For some reason, that was a big thing for me too. My future sister in law got married at the metropolitan and it has all wood floors too.
Both are really pretty and I'd recommend them :) Hope this helps!

Wood floors were big for me too. The Riviera has all wood floors and actually just had them redone last week!! I went over the weekend and they look awesome!!

Fox Hollow Garden Terrace was recently redone to have all hard wood floors, so I guess you'd have your option of rooms at Fox Hollow.

The Old Field Club has all wood floors in the main room, but there's carpet every where else through out the building.

Sand Castle isn't wooden floor, but there's no carpeting at all

I booked The Sand Castle because I loved how they have marble and wooden floors throughout. No Carpeting! I hated that as well. You should look into it. You get so much for the price!

Timber Point is going to have all wood floors in the next month or so, so definitely by the time you get married!

We looked at the Three Village Inn today in Stony Brook and they have wooden floors as well!

FH and I booked Stewart Manor Country Club last week, and their entire reception room has wooden floors- which means no limits to the dance area during the wedding! We really liked the idea of the entire space being used as a dance area - we really want our wedding to have that great party feel!

Edited to add: We are having a relatively small wedding (115 guests max) during an off-peak season, and getting an all-inclusive package - something you should definitely look into if you are concerned about the spiraling costs of your wedding day!
