This is pretty current for me since my RSVP date is in a couple of weeks. . .
How do you encourage the stragglers to get their RSVPs in?
It's not like they don't know their answer!

Re: My first QOTD!!!!
Lol, I need ideas!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I sent an email to one cousin who actually had RSVP'd probably back in April but somehow it got lost in the shuffle. She was very quick about getting back to me again this time.
The others, I've been IMing just to 'inquire' (since it's mostly my friends) but unfortunately they're totally IGNORING ME.
It's quite irritating.
But today I'm bringing 3 invitations to work for some people I wanted to include from the start but didn't make the original cut. We finally made our minimum (the 101 I have posted to the left is without me and FH) but I'd still like a few more people to come celebrate with us.
Next step will be the tables! I have to say, I'm really glad we're doing a sweetheart table because if I had to choose who to sit with, I'd give myself a migraine.

Re: My first QOTD!!!!
I plan on calling my non-RSVPers and asking them directly. I am saying that I am keeping a scrapbook of the responses, so PLEASE send it in, it would mean a lot to me to have your response in my scrapbook! I don't want to go by 'I said I was coming' I want it IN WRITING. ( I don't say that part to the guests, lol) My RSVP deadline is in 2 days!!!! Still about 15-20 out of our 65 guests unaccounted for, ugh!

Re: My first QOTD!!!!
I got family involved.....I had my parents call people and DH's family call people. Just tell them you need to know to give the RH the final count.

Re: My first QOTD!!!!
Hmmm, I'm already dreading this! I'm thinking for family I will enlist other family members to do my dirty work. For friends I'll just have to suck it up and call them! Hopefully I will not have to have too many of these to deal with.

Re: My first QOTD!!!!
We broke it up into groups. My mother called her own friends, we contacted our friends. We tried not to be pushy but mentioned simply that we needed a headcount for the RH. A few people RSVP'd over the phone but never sent back the card! That was annoying, but at least they came

Re: My first QOTD!!!!
I told EVERYONE.....if you don't send the RSVP you don't EAT!
I'm just going to count people who don't RSVP as NOs.

Re: My first QOTD!!!!
These are some excellent tactics, ladies! I have to update my avatar phrase, but I'm about 21 people away from my minimum. . .with about 35 outstanding RSVPs, I'm hoping that we make it!!!
I got a text message NO and an AIM message YES the other day, which was very frustrating because it's so much easier if it's in writing. I tried Facebook a couple of weeks ago, which elicited a few mailed back responses, but not as many as I should have received.
Has anybody here done something unique to squeeze the card out of a 'non responder'?

Re: My first QOTD!!!!
I posted as my status on facebook ' why is it that people who know/or know they arent coming to the wedding send back the RSVP card?' It didnt work! Im going to have my mom and FMIL call anyone who hasnt returned the card by the RSVP date.

Re: My first QOTD!!!!
I will call people and simply say 'What the F&$^% is wrong with you?! There is a stamp already on there, all you need to do is check off a box and throw it in the mailbox, you are now uninvited for being a lazy a$$hole'
... ok maybe I will be alot nicer, but that is what Im going to be thinking..

I LOVE the scrapbook idea!
I am just going to call. My RSVP date is 8/5. Come 8/6 I will be a lean mean calling machine. hopefully I wont have too many scragglers

Re: My first QOTD!!!!
I'm still missing a good number... I didn't get a single one back today!!!
I'm giving it until tomorrow evening. If no more mail, I'm calling the rest of the stragglers.

Re: My first QOTD!!!!
I'm dreading this....since no one is rsvping to my shower, I'm kind of experiencing it already. I suppose I'll call me whopping two friends, and I'll make my dad call his family. I'm really nervous with FH's side though...I'm afraid if FMIL has to call families that haven't rsvped, and then they mention something about not being able to come unless they can bring their kids, she'll just tell them to bring them
