was not exactly diligent in giving us names and addresses for the wedding. She would give either just the first initial, no first initial (i.e. Mr & Mrs Smith), leave off zip codes, street names spelled wrong, etc etc. So today we get an RSVP back with the guys first name crossed out and his correct name written above (we did the personalized resp cards so the names were already on it). She told us his name was Robert...his name is William I feel so embarassed but hopefully they know it's her mistake, being I've never met these people before.

Re: MY FMIL
blah! That is embarassing!! I'm sure FH's mom would do the same. Luckily, i have been in the family for 9 years and was able to do his list myself. I'd have to have to count on her!

Omg that is so embarassing! But my FMIL has done the same thing. I've been waiting for her sister's address for over 3 months now

Re: MY FMIL
Wow that's really embarrassing - shouldn't she know the first names of the people she's inviting to the wedding?

Re: MY FMIL
Mine did the same thing and FH didn't catch some he should have caught (his first cousin's name is Aimee, not Amy!). Oh we had two 'Mr.' and both responded with an underline under 'Dr.' to accentuate our error -- how would I know they were doctors if she didn't tell me!
Oh FMILs are silly....
Side note: FMIL still writes my name 'Rachael' and I do not spell it that way....

OMG she transposed Victor and Hugo? That's actually really funny---she knew it was a name of a French poet, just not if it was his first or last name!!!

Re: MY FMIL
Maybe it wasn't a mistake. Some people 'go by' their middle name.
But... UGH! so embarassing.

Yup, Hugo and Victor. NOT EVEN CLOSE. We laughed about it but I honestly just felt so bad for the guy that we got his name wrong! lol.
