am i crazy or is this highly innapropriate? they live are far away and it wasonly the first of the showers it was w his fam side not mine.... and that they maybe thought she wouldnt come....but my moh and mom made plans to go and never received invites.....tacky? weird? anyone??? i didnt know anyone there it was 8 hours from my home!!??

That is very wrong....my sister lives in albany and she had two showers, one here on LI and one up there.
the bridal party threw the one here and included her husbands family. (they did all come).
and when her FMIL had hers up there the entire bridal party and my mom plus an aunt and 2 cousins were invited.
your FMIL def should have included your mom and bridal party

thank u girls i was debating this they planned this easter weekend when i could/should have been w my fam..... and they didnt even invite them.... i was so sad they werent there i thought they didnt come!!!!! and they said they NEVER were invited!!!!! im mad!!!

My FMIL isn't having a wedding shower for me, and she lives 8 hours from me. Is your mom having one for you also? My mom's not having one for me either. No showers for me.
Sorry you're so upset and disappointed. I hope you had fun at least and that your parents and future in-laws don't let this get between their being friendly.
I think it's wonderful your FMIL loves you so much and is comfortable enough with you to throw you a shower and invite her friends to celebrate you and your love for her son. That's really sweet.
I love my FMIL and look forward to being closer to her after FH and I are married. I hope you still get to do the same.

ExTREMELY INAPPROPRIATE! Even if they didn't think your mother would come, because of the distance, she DEFINITELY should have been invited.. my mother even invited my step mother to the shower (even though she is in California) - she knew she wouldn't come but wanted to make sure everyone was included!

Wow SOOOO inappropriate! My cousin is getting married in May and had 2 showers (1 in CT where her mom & sister/MOH live and on in Syracuse where her, her FH and in-laws live) and BOTH sides were invited to BOTH! In fact her in-laws (including his aunts & cousins) came to the one in CT! That's how it's supposed to be! Very poor manners and I would say something to my DH.

okay.... well, playing devil's advocate. you know what your FMIL is like. is she malicious, a game player, etc., or is she just clueless? some are clueless, and would just assume your mom wouldn't come, etc. (meanwhile it would be a nice way for your mom to meet FH's side of the studio, but oh well...)
is there a chance FMIL just didn't get it, didn't realize she should invite?
