OMG! I have a 'temporary' cast on until I can get to the orthopedist on Monday to have a cat scan done. I am in such pain for the past week and the x-ray today did not show anything. They think I could have a stress fracture that the x-ray didn[t pick up. I cannot be in a cast for my wedding!

I'm not a doctor but I did have a stress fracture before and I had to wear that big heavy boot for about two months so you'll probably have time to recover. If it was actually broken the x'ray would have shown it. Feel better.

Obviously stay off your feet if at all possible.
Definitely buy a pair of comfortable back up shoes if you dont have one yet.

**Crashing -- IF you had to be in a boot it wouldn't be that bad. I've been in a boot for almost 4 months and have been trying on wedding gowns in it.. Of course it wouldn't be the ideal situation but being in a wedding dress in the boot isn't all that awful; just try to get a heal that would be about even on the opposite foot; you can't even see it with the dress.. I know it would just stink though.

thanks ladies! Here's a bit more background info:
5 years ago I had a stress fracture on the same foot that did not show up on x-rays. It did in the cat scan.
I teach kindergarten and have a 6 year daughter so there is no way I'm staying off my feet!
The temporary cast makes it feel much better but I just have a feeling I need the boot as it doesn't seem I get enough support from it.
