Re: my friend
This is TOUGH!!! A person in such an unhealthy relationship won't take ANY advice..not from a family member or a friend..unfortunately she is the ONLY one who can get away. Kindly talk to her and have other friends and her family get involved.
I can't get over HE hit HER mom! I'd get rid of him on the spot for that!
Just be strong and supportive....she needs to build up her confidence and know she can do SO much better!

Sometimes you just have to be there to support them. i know its hard but all you can do is be there for her and hopefully she will come around before anything happens to her or there child. Good luck!!

Re: my friend
first of all that is soo sad. and my heart breaks for her... sounds like she needs some serious help.. and this man needs some serious help. how dare he lay a hand on anyone let alone her MOTHER. and i agree i would be afraid for your friend and the baby as well. unfortunately her defending him is a common thing for woman who are abused (emotionally and physically) to do. they some how feel like they 'deserve it' or 'asked for it' or some how it was their fault. just try and be her support system and be there for her. and tell her maybe him losing the ring is a sign that this is whats ment to be. i would try and not TELL her what to do. shes grown and can make her own decisions just be there for her no matter what.

I absolutely agree. Sometimes they don't want our opinion, they just need our shoulders... it's a hard position for you... I'm sorry she is going thru this
