my friend lost her E-ring!!

a friend of mine lost her engagement ring last week and she just told me this morning. she's so upset and i don't know how to comfort her...all i could think of was if i lost mine i would DIE!!

she didn't have insurance on it...and that scares me b/c we don't have insurance for mine. i'm seeing that it really is an important thing...we better get on that!

i'm so sad for her...i don't know WHAT i'd do...i don't think i'd be able to do much of anything actually, b/c FH would KILL me!!

maybe it will turn up...

you should get insurance, it's not very expensive. I'm sorry to hear about your friend's ring, that's awful.

Please get insurance for your ring. I wouldnt even wear my ring out of the house until FH and I received the insurance confirmation letter.

How terrible for your friend

I insured my ring with Jeweler's Mutual, they cover it 100% whereas Met Life, the co. I have renter's insurance with, would only cover my deductible. Definitely check it out! mine is like $150 a year, I think - super cheap and worth it for peace of mind!

she said she never takes it off unless she's home but she has no recollection. i am hoping she was just really tired and put it down on an end table or something and she finds it...but i figure she would have found it by now if that were the case.

i'm definitely getting mine insured...now i'm scared to wear it!!

That's awful, I hope she finds it, I can' t even imagine how she's feeling. I also ended up getting a seperate policy for my ring because I wasn't happy w/the coverage on my renter's insurance.

Definately get your ring insured. It is so worth it. My FH had it insured before he even gave it to me.

that's terrible for your friend. i have total freak outs about my ring and never take it off. FH got mine insured before he even gave it to me - he spent enough on it (and probably doesn't trust me!!). So please please get it insured.

My mom 'lost' her e-ring once - she even accused her cleaning lady of stealing it (terrible). Turns out she forgot she left it in the jewelry cleaner. So maybe her ring will turn up.

I am so sorry for your friend!! I do not know what I would do if i ever lost my ring.... i think i would just crawl into a hole and die!

I had my ring insured like two seconds after i put it on my finger. I work for an insurance company, so i did all my research and my ring is on its own policy.... it was pretty funny, after calling our parents, my next call was to insure my ring!!!!

OMG my stomach just turned for her! I don't have insurance yet either but this is surely going to make me get it...

Re: my friend lost her E-ring!!

this might be a stupid question...but where do i go to get my ring appraised? do i use the paperwork given by the jeweler FH bought from, or do i have to go somewhere else?

tia!
