My friend and her husband are having work done in there home. Her husband, his brother, and a few of the brother's friends were doing work and at the end of the day-while she was at work-her rings were gone.
She had left them in her bedroom, where no work was being done and sure enough her two rings-totaling $18,000 were stolen.
Their homeowners insurance is giving them $2000!!!! I just wanted to post this because I wanted to let you ladies know that no matter what-DON'T trust anyone when it comes to your priceless items, and also to make sure your homeowners insurance covers a BIG chunk of your ring value.

thats sooo sad!!! if they knew everybody who was in the house that day, she should definitely get in touch with her husbands brother and talk to him. it HAD to be one of his friends that took them- i would tell him ' i'm giving whoever it was a chance to fess up before i go to the police. so if they dont' want charges pressed, they better fess up'

thats horrible, but she should also pursue it with the insurance company.....insurance companies count on people accepting what they say initially.....but if you put up a fight often you will get more. please tell me she's called the police......even if the person that stole it doesn't confess, one of the others probably saw something....again so sorry.....

Re: My friend's E-ring and wedding ring were stolen
That's awful....I know it's like pouring salt in the wound with the insurance company only giving back $2000...but if it were my rings, I would be devistated because nothing could replace the originals. If it were me, I would call the police and have a report written.
FH's parents had their house robbed before he was born. They climbed through the basement window and FMIL's engagement ring was stolen (she wasn't wearing it because she is a detox nurse).
My prayers are with your friend that hopefully they will turn up or something will work out.

Re: My friend's E-ring and wedding ring were stolen
My friemd is a registered nurse on a critical care unit, so her hands are always in and out of gloves, and are being washed about a billion times a day-that is why she doesn't wear them to work. I can't really blame her for that. It a 2 carat center stone, with 1 carat on each side, set in platinum.
They have already spoken to the police and without proof, they don't know which person took them. So according to them, she is out of luck.

Oh my god that is horrible. My FH took out insurance just for the ring because the homeowners doesn't cover that much. I can't believe that.

Wow - my rings aren't really worth too much - not worth it to get insurance on them - but I would still be so upset!!!
