My funny wedding day story!
Just to keep you all entertained on this snow day (not like I have a snow day -- am currently in my office on the 28th floor watching the snow fly by)...
The morning of my wedding, I got ready at the Smithtown Sheraton. The photographer and videographer showed up at 11am to take 'getting ready' shots. We planned to leave around 11:30-11:45 to head over for the ceremony to take pre-ceremony photos.
Luckily it was only a few minutes before we planned to leave -- my parents had gone back to their hotel room to get their bags. The Smithtown Sheraton fire alarms went off! Me, my sister, and the whole photo/video/hair/makeup crew ran into the hallway and yes, it was a real fire alarm with people spilling into the hallways. We went into the lobby as the directions said and met my parents there. We were about to leave anyway, so we just went outside to the cars (thankfully we had all grabbed our bags as we left!). As a result, we have some photos and video of me in my dress and veil standing next to the fire chief's car with its lights flashing!
So, ladies, no matter how bad it gets, remember the morning of your weddings that at least you didn't also have to deal with a fire alarm at the hotel!
