it is my FFMIL birthday this thursday, so I took off from my part time job to spend the evening with them for cake.
My FH just called me to say, work if you want, the rest of his sisters can't make it that day.
I should have know better and worked, his sisters pull this **** for everyone's b-day.
I am so mad because I could have used the money
Better be nice....I am hitting the beach thursday!!!!!!!

FH family does this all the time it drives me nuts - And they will do it for MAJOR holidays too. Like we are not having Thanksgiving this year (two days before) ????? ***????? Someone call hallmark because they called off Thanksgiving .... I leave work early for the 5:30 dinners they always have on the South Shore even thought they know I work in Manhattan and we live on the North Shore - and then call FH on cell phone to cancel right before he picks me up saying they dont feel like it! ....arggggh I feel your pain.

glad to know I am not alone in this. sad part is, I SHOULD HAVE KNOW BETTER. his sisters can't change their schedule for their OWN MOTHER, why should I. But I know if I was working and they were all free, I would have been hurt that I missed it. They did this to my FH on his last B-day, so I just should have know.
His mom felt bad, because I took off of my extra income.
Oh well, live and learn

I know I feel bad for FH - Everytime I say my family drives me nuts he says yeah but at least they dont cancel Holidays !
Can you ask your boss if you can come in anyway - or did you already switch with someone?

Can you just go anyway and spend the time with her? Is Thursday her actual b-day? That can't be easy... Maybe you and FH can just spend some time with her.
