My Gown is Cut In Half!!!!

I knew my alterations were going to be horrendous because the bridal shop measured me wrong hollow to hem so the gown came in 5 inches too long!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it has lace all over it so it's not an easy alteration.

I am not having it altered at the bridal shop. So today I went in for a second fitting and my seamstress had cut my dress in completely in half across the waist! It was a two piece! The torso on the dress was waaaaay too long for me so she had to cut it in order to shorten it. I knew she was going to, but it was so weird to see my dress laying there in 2 pieces!!



I totally trust her and I know it will come out great, she's practically remaking the gown... I don't even know how much this is going to cost... stupid bridal shop!

OMG, I'll say it again OMG! That must be weird to see the dress like that. It will be ok though. Thats why they get paid the big bucks. Your dress will be perfect when she's done.

My reception wedding dress has a layer of beaded lace over it too... *crossing fingers*

I'm so paranoid about the alterations! My first fitting is the end of the month. And to make sure I understood exactly what was going to happen to my dress, I bought a David's Bridal dress (originally a back up) and did my own alterations on it. Definitely a learning experience... but now i KNOW what the deal is.
