I am the oldest of like 15 or so grandchildren (really bad with the little ones- there's too many), and my grandparents are not rich, so I know they can't do as much as they'd like. My grandma would give all of us the world if she could, but it's just not possible.
I was just speaking to her on the phone b/c we are having dinner to celebrate my Bday, and she is so excited about the wedding. I am not the first grandchild to get married, but for some reason, my wedding is really touching her.
Anyway, she said she wants to give me money for something towards the wedding! I told her that it was not necessary, but she said it would make her feel so good to do it. She is so sweet, it makes me cry. God should have made more women like her!!!
She still sends me bday cards with checks in the mail...she's the BEST!

Grandma's are the best. My nana had a stroke a year and a half ago and went to live in an assisted living. So they redid her will so that she would have money available to pay for the assisted living. She insisted the money going to her grandchildren not be touched. Since then she has passed but she was generous to the end.

That's wonderful!!!! Yay for grandmas!!!! Mine wanted to help for my dress and gave me $500 towards it, I was so pleasantly surprised!! I also have to say that the bulk of my wedding budget comes from an account that she started for me when I was a baby.
Grandmas are the bestest!!!!!

Grandmothers are the best. I am the oldest grandchild and the first on my mom's side so when I went ot look for wedding dresses my mom and grandmothercame with me my mom was gonna pay for my dress but instead my grandmother faught us both on it and said she is paying for it. I love my little shorty. (my nickname for my grandmother she is very short)

Awww sounds like you have a great Grandma Jessica....they sure are the best. Mine also is contributing...she has given me money for my dress and has had a little piggy bank set up in their kitchen for the change to go in. When it gets full she gives it to my FI and I to bring to the bank. Thought that was cute!! Grandmas (well and Grandpas for that matter) are very special people in our lives. Don't know what I'd do without mine!!

She does sound so cute. My grandma also sends money in the cards for me and like clockwork 3 days after putting it in the mail she calls to make sure I got it. Too cute

I am very lucky with my wonderful grandparents- they put the $2500 deposit for our hall

She really sounds like a sweet lady!!! Your right god should of made more people like her. Your very blessed I never met any of my grandmas. They both passed away when I was a lil baby. I always missed going to grandmas house for dinner. Ok..enough sadness from me.
Jessica your grandma sounds great! It's really nice she wants to help you as much as she can.

Unfortunetly my grandmas died when I was little(10 and 17)but Im glad you guys have such great grandmothers just to be there even if they cant help financially, I would've loved to shop with my dads mother if she was still her.

Thanks girls. To all those girls whose Grandma's are not around, remember of course that they are with you always in spirit. My moms mom died when I was seven, but my mom always says I am so much like her (though I say not as pretty- my grandma looked like a 40's movie star!!!!)...they are a part of us, so they will always be around....
I actually can't wait to be a Grandma.....it seems so much more fun than being a mom!!!!
