My Grandma, not attending my wedding...

I can't believe it! My grandma (my dads mom) is not coming... My dad didn't want to tell me because he didn't want to upset me, but my mom told me about it.. My grandma is very very sick and she might not even 'make it' to my wedding day, let alone attend.. I am sooo upset about this! I lost my grandpa when I was like 8 so I don't really remember him.. Other than that, I still have all 3 of my grandparents.. Fortunately, I don't know what it's like to loose someone you love so much.. I don't know what to do...

On top of all the stress, now this...

oh no i am so sorry its so sad but 2nd time i heard of this happening today, my friend's fh is going through the same thing. I can only imagine how hard it is, well only 1 of my grandparents was able to attend so i know how it feels.

I only have 1 gma and she has end stage alzheimers. We are going to try to get her to come to the church but she can't make it to the reception. FH doesn't have any gprnts left.

Im so sorry that you are going thru this especialy so close to your wedding. It is so hard to lose a grandparent. I never met 2 of mine then lost my grandpa when I was 6 and my grandma in 1992. No matter what she will be there with you in spirit.

I understand what you are going through. My only remaining gpa, the person I've been so close to and being the oldest grandchild I have had the pleasure of him being apart of a large section of my life... he was give 6 months about 3 years ago so it's only a matter of time he has been having more and more bad days- I'm hoping he makes it to my weddding (he is planning on attending currently) but I don't know what I'd do besides be a mess if he's not there.

i know exactly how you feel....my grandmother passed away in march and my grandfather in Aug. of '06. I only had my paternal grandmother there that day. its hard but her health is most important.

I have 1 living grandparent, FH has none, nor his parents. My gram is 93 but lives in Boston and I thought she was coming but she told my sister she hasn't been feeling well and doesn't think she'll make it.
My only living Aunt/Uncle was just diagnosed with advanced liver cancer and she is not doing that well so I'm not sure she'll make it either.

Very very sad, but these are the s*cky things we can't control.

i understand your sadness....one of my grandmothers who i grew up with was unable to come to mine, she has breast cancer and is very weak these days....so upsetting

I know how you feel...only 1 of my grandparents will be there..the rest are deceased..and my grandpa recently passed away..and didn't make it to my wedding day
