My HM pictures and HM Review! Dubai & Maldives
Ritz Carlton Dubai - A++++++
We stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Dubai for 5 days, and I can honestly say that I have never experienced such fantastic service. I must first say that Dubai in July is miserably hot! I had no idea how painful it would be to go outside. The humidity was unbearable at times.
The minute you arrive through Passports control at Dubai airport there is a private car waiting to collect you. The gentleman sent to meet us helped us to collect our baggage, directed us to our car and we were met by the driver, who proceeded to give us iced water and a newspaper. The Ritz Carlton is everything you would expect from a top end hotel.
Construction work is all around the hotel (as it is in the whole of Dubai) but it really was not a problem for us.
The pool area was nice and they kept the pool water cool, so it was nice to take a swim. The beach is beyond gorgeous!! However, the ocean water is so hot. It felt like entering a huge hot tub!
One night we had dinner at the Burj Al Arab hotel and that was a great experiance! We also went to the ski resort inside the Mall of Emirates which is a fantastic site! We did lots of shopping and spent lots of time at the pool. Overall, this was a really great hotel. We honestly didn't find anything wrong with this hotel at all that they could do anything about.
The W Resort and Spa- Maldives : A++++++++
I've always wanted to go to the Maldives and finally got it together in convicing DH to take the trip for our HM. Upon arrival in Male airport we were greeted by W staff who got us over to the domestic seaplane terminal and into their private lounge, where check-in takes place. The 40 minute seaplane journey was fun, and arrival at the resort is like that old American television show 'Fantasy Island'....the plane pulls up to the dock, the staff greets you, and you hop into a buggy for a quick tour of the island before settling in. We had a onebedroom over water villa which was AMAZING! The three restaurants were all good but the wine prices were ridiculousy high!! The ambiance is very low key, apart from the aqua gym in the morning and the Latin dancing followed by pilates and meditation on the beach the, days just flow by. We went sea bobbing, snorkeling, kayaking, anf diving! The corals and underwater sea life was unbeliavable! Ive never seen anything like it!
Also, wherever you are it's hard to escape the outdoor weather-proof speakers playing out mood music. In every bar or restaurant it's there which i actually loved. A few older people complained that this is the Maldives not Ibiza lol.
Go to the Maldives – its beautiful –and stay at this hotel!
Switzerland
We spent one day in Switzerland sine it was a connection country for us and i fell in love! Zurich is so beautiful i just wish we had been able to spend somemore time there! Here are some pics:
