We had the contracts signed for the beautiful house in Lindenhurst, and the people were still showing the house after the deal was made, and unfortunately they took a higher offer! I'm so upset and dissappointed, I can't believe that these people didn't stnad by their word...
I've never been so disaapointed and upset.

I'm sorry, I have a lot of friends that bought houses that won't tell us until closing because so many houses they thought they were buying fell through. It can be a shady market!

once you signed the contract it should have been locked. Did you pay for the inspection of the house, Or for a lawyer? the person will have to reimburse everything you spent.

Basically, we had signed the contracts and left the downpayment, by the time they received the papers they had changed their miind. It was a matter of 3 days!! As far as the lawyers fees, I requested my attorney bill them b/c I'm tottally annoyed at this, and as for the engineer I waived it, I'm a construction engineer so I walked the house through myself. FH & I bent over backwards to accomodate these people and we had a great repore (sp?) with them, I never thought the guy would go back on his word, he reassured me this was a done deal...Now we are back to looking, feeling angry and heartbroken...But at least we're in it together, and that makes this whole thing easier.
