The other day I posted that FH's mom would be going to Bangladesh soon to get my bridal jewelry.
(Yeah, WOW!!!)
Last night she and I were on the phone and she told me that it's tradition for her to also buy me my bridal attire, and that since she's going over there, she would like to get it from Bangladesh. At first I was a little hesitant; I mean, the idea of getting something like that without trying it on or picking it out had me a little uneasy. But then she assured me that it would be something similar to what his cousin wore for her wedding (which I loved! ) and that we'd get me measured before her trip so it'll be the right size. Also, his dad will be sending photos before any purchases are made.
So here's some inspiration photos that I'm going to show her so she can get an idea of my taste...what do you ladies think? The pics are enormous, but there's so much detail that you kinda need them large!

Yeah I'm digging the second one because burgandy will look better with my casper goth girl skintone than vibrant red.
but isn't red traditional in indian weddings? well something in the red family?? for my friends wedding she wore a red and cream sari for the indian ceremony, then a white wedding dress for the civil ceremony then this gorgeous blueish sari for the reception. her sil, smil and friend also had some beautiful ones for their weddings... in general i think sari's are gorgeous!

2 and 4 seem most traditional for a Bengali wedding. I'm sure you can't go wrong if she's going to Bangladesh. Allah hafez! (Good luck or Goodbye)

They're very traditional....especially his mom. Not going to lie, it was a very difficult process to feel accepted, and we still reach that occasional bump in the road, but it's been a lot better within the past 8 months or so than it's ever been.

I'm between #2 and #4...4 moreso because it's within my wedding color scheme...but 2 because it's friggin' BAD@SS!

#2! My mom's best friend is from India and is throwing us a traditional Indian bridal shower/engagement party. She just brought back the most AMAZING items in November! Have fun with all of this!

I dated a Bengali guy for 7 years and at times it was not easy! His parents, thankfully, accepted it, but I was rarely allowed to go to family functions because his grandparents, etc just couldn't understand. One of my best (girl) friend's is also Bengali. I guess I'm just drawn to that culture for some reason (I'm white as they come, btw)
Anyway, if you love one another you'll make it through any obtacles. And of course you'll have beautiful children (if you're planning to have them) bc IMO mixed babies are always gorgeous!
