So as most of you girls know, I had an interview today at P.S. 117 (in Queens). The principal and asst. principal were so nice and they said they really like me, but all of their positions are filled right now. They said they're hoping that someone might retire, so they told me to keep in touch.
It's such a great school and everyone is so nice - I hope I end up getting a job there for this September. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

I think they do that in city schools because of the high turn over rate, and a lot of teachers are still actively looking for jobs on LI while they are teaching in the city.

I think they do that in city schools because of the high turn over rate, and a lot of teachers are still actively looking for jobs on LI while they are teaching in the city.
I think that's exactly why - they said that anyone could leave last minute and they would need to fill the position

I interviewed at a school in Flushing around this time 4 years ago, and they called me 2 weeks before school started with a position.. so hang in there!!
