My last decision before the BIG DAY! (w/ poll)

My hall wants to know where I want the vendors to sit. They can be at a couple of tables in the hall where all the other tables are or they can be in a separate room just off the room.

Note: I forgot to add their tables (2) into my final numbers so I would have to order 2 more centerpieces. Not a huge deal, but a factor.

Where are your vendors sitting?

i have not thought about this...i am giving dinner to our vendors, but that thought of where they will sit had not entered my mind...does you rh have a suggestion as to what is typically done?

I asked that too -- they said it's up to each person and it is 50/50. They are soooo helpful

If they are dresses up they can sit in the room. if in plan clothes they have to eat somewhere else.

lol...i guess not so helpful...well, i think i would say seperately honestly...i certainly want our vendors to eat and stuff...but seeing as they are not technically a guest and the choice has to be made...plus the additional cenetrpieces at the last minute along with place setaings, i say seperate definitely...HTH

somewhere else - i never saw vendors eat in the same room plus you shouldnt have to pay for the CPs for them - i am sure they dont care about them LOL

are you particularly close with one vendor? maybe you can call and ask what they prefer/usually do?

I never thought of this - but i'll go with another room. no reason to decorate and wine and dine them, you're paying enough!

I haven't thought about this until now, but here's something to think about...maybe the vendors want to be by themselves to relax, and also, will you have room to fit them in to your room? My room is long and narrow, so if i have a choice, i think i will put them in a separate room so there's more room for dancing!

I think the separate room will just be easier. I don't really want to pay for more CP and I don't want to add more tables.

I just don't want to hurt their feelings. I know that sounds crazy... I've only met them a few times and none of them are 'friends' or anything. I just don't want them to think I am rude.

are any of your vendors LIW vendors? Maybe you can post the ? on the vendors helping brides board to see what they say?

Or, at the very least, post it on the 07 / newlywed board.

I know right.

I would sit them seperate, (I THINK!) That way it will also give you more room in your hall. Adding 2 more tables takes up a lot of space!

i just assumed the hall would seat them somewhere when they're served. I was never asked at my first wedding - i dont know why the hall cant just take care of it and why are they bothering you with it

They are taking a break. Besides my wanting them to be in a separate room so the guests don't see them breaking, I'm sure they want to be out of the room for a little while.
