okay i need your honest opinions advice. and i can handle whatever you have to say
so flowerfield is the place...we fell in love, its now just figuring out a day and knocking down the $pp ...because a sat night in the summer is nearly 200 bucks....ouch ...my question is to you, if i were to have a fall wedding would it be stupid of me to still make is beach theme? okay girls i can take critizism, this is why im askin....like if i my wedding is in november would it be weird to see starfish, and seashells and stuff like that? And have everything like beach themed?
i have other options, such as a day wedding , or moving to a fri/sun night, but i wanted ur opinion on that....i would have a april/may weddin, but my bff is having hers may 1, 09 and i dont wanna crush on her parade!
thanks so much girls...

you know u can always count on an honest opinion from me... on that note...
i think if u had your wedding in like early sept you might be able to push the beach theme.... to me, Nov doesnt seem beachy... unless of course i was at a destination weddin... or dreaming about going to the carribean on a cruise like i am right now

honestly I dont know how I feel about a beach theme in the fall, but you can switch to a hall theme and that would look really cute..but i get the feeling that's not quite what you want. A day wedding is a good idea you'll save money and if you were able to snag memorial or labor day weekend you should get a discount for daytime the holiday and you could still swing your beach theme. Don't give up though, the right option will open itself up to you.

Think of it this way...
In the bahamas or florida in the winter, there are still starfish and sand
I DO NOT think its strange. Just keep with browns (beach colors will go with that) and beachy earthy tones....
Im doing a beach theme also so ill help!

I don't think a beach theme would work in November....but that's really personal preference....
the beach theme will work in sept.. but nov is kinda pushing it... that's more fall fall.... in april i think a beach theme isn't far off... i would do that.... if it's cheaper... i know you dont want to rain on your friends parade... but that's a tough choice...

I agree, November is too close to winter to be beachy. I think a day wedding is a great idea if you want to save money.

Yeah, November and beach doesn't seem to go... have you thought of doing it on a Thursday,
Mine is July 2, 2009, the thursday before july 4th. Since the 4th falls on a Saturday that year, the federal gov, is celebrating it on the 3rd, meaning that people are off the day after my wedding, so I can have a night wedding in the middle of the week.
Is that an option?

I think maybe you could pull it off...like an under the sea type of theme... but be careful....fall can be pricey too. What about early spring.... how are the prices then??

Re: my LIW'ers... i need your opinion....
I would say no only because we know November is not beachy and it's rather cold like it is now. If you really want to get that beach theme you should try for Sat. afternoon; or better yet Fri/Sun. I know it may not be what you want but you will definately get the effect you are striving for.
Did you ask your vendor if July 4th is available. The 4th falls on a Sat maybe you can do the 3rd (Fri) you might get a better rate. JMO!!

I don't think it would work for two reasons. # 1 In November we have just finished the whole summer vibe, and as much as u may love summer as I do, a change of season always feels refreshing.
#2 Most RH start decorating around October giving the RH that Autum feeling w/pumpkins etc.. Having your guest view the RH fall decor and then your Ballroom summer theme may not match that well.
How about doing your wedding in April w/the summer theme. My RH gives a huge discount for weddings between January - April. Maybe yours do to. Hope everything works out.

I do think a beach theme any other time of the year would look out of place, but you do what you want...it's your wedding!
If you do March, you can still get away with it and possibly get an off-peak price, especially on a Fri or Sun, or daytime too. Good luck!

I think early september would be good for a beach theme. In Nov it wil be hard cause of how the places decorates for the different seasons.

I agree, I think that you can push the beach theme in Sept. But if you decide on having a wedding in OCt. or Nov. I love the idea of having centerpieces with apples and cloves on the tables. Faux leaves on the tables, maybe even as escort cards... these were my ideas if I was to have gotten married in the fall. Hope it helps!

In my opinion i think it would be tough to pull it off in November... but part of me says... it's your weddings do whatever you want... you want to be happy if the beach theme is what makes you happy go for it!

I have to say NO to a beach theme in November but, i think if you had it in April with the cheaper pricing then you can get away with a beach theme because the weather is getting warm. How about the last weekend in April??
