SO, since I am a huge fan of MAC makeup, I decided to do a trial since there was no cost and all you had to do was buy 4 products (which I do all the time anyway)
SO, I bring in 2 pictures of makeup that I like. They are very romantic, dewy looks. I explain to the girl that I totally dislike DARK eyes and that I want something not too heavy. I also say that I don't like dark pink lips--that I like my lips on the light side. She agreed.
ANYWAY she basically gave me smoky grey eyes that were totally DARK and nasty lipstick that was DARK!! I was so pissed. I repeatedly kept saying, this is dark--this is dark. Finally, I told her t make the lipstick a LIGHT pink. She winds up taking it up MAYBEEEE one notch. Still NOT what I wanted. Anyway, during the trial, she also urged me to try fake lashes. I didn't think she was going t charge me for them, AND SHE DID!!! If I knew Ii was going to pay $12 for lashes that I literally pulled off as soon as I got home, I wouldn't have done them in the first place. I also thought it was wrong of her to not mention the price of them from the get go. THIS is why I did not tip her, plus the fact that I had to wait 40 MINUTES for her even though I had an appt!!!!!
ANYWAY, I guess this was a good experience because now I know EXACTLY what I do NOT want and I cant wait for a trial with MIA on Monday now!!

I def want a natural glamorous look, like Dani said. Maybe I didnt describe it well enough, but thats why I brought pictures.

MAC has a habit of doing that. Some mac make up artists also do weddings so they'll know how to do it but the others love doing this look.
I think you look beautiful but it wasnt the look you wanted and she should've listened to you. Plus its for a wedding so i understand why you want it a bit more toned down.
The best is that the girl told me she has donoe lots of weddings and knew exactly what I wanted..guess not.
I will 100% post my pics from my trial with MIA!!!! Thats happening Monday at 12pm!

you look really great in the makeup though i do have to agree it is a bit too dark for a wedding... I would write something to the MAC manager there and explain why you are so disappointed... maybe they can give u another free trial (without having to buy and makeup ) and with someone else there !!

you look beautiful.....but that is SO not what you asked for! did she think it was opposite day!?!?!?! I'm sorry you got stuck paying for something they didnt tell you there was a charge for.....thats ridiculious! I would have refused to buy any makeup

i think the before and after you look very pretty....but I can totally understand how it's not your prefect wedding look....mac doesn't listen too often haha...anytime i go i'm always like 'can you take some off please' lol.....

Meanwhile, I can do ten times a better job with their makeup than they do most of the time!!! The thing that burns me the most too is that the girls always look so awesome in their OWN makeup, but yet always make me look like poop. lol

I agree with you and what most of the other girls said..you look absolutely beautiful but its DEF not what you asked for. But it is possible that she could have misunderstood...because your face makeup and your lips look great and natural, but your eyes are WAY dramatic. But if you said the word 'glamourous' at all..I can tell you, in a MACs girls mind..glamourous means ALL OUT! lolz..so maybe thats why she played up your eyes so much..plus you have beautiful eyes and maybe she just got excited and did a little too much? lolz. Either way..its not what you asked for..and she should have tones it down once you mentioned it the first time..

I think you are very pretty with or without makeup. I think that the grey eyes would look great with like you said, a light pink lipstick. But she did a great job anyway!

I know that you did ask for something completely different and you shoudl get what you desire- most importantly- you shoudl get a makeup artist that will LISTEN to you!!! She has no business in doing what she wanted and then had balls for charging you for lashes without fair warning!!!
i wasn't happy with mac either. i had a trial there and i told them i wanted a natural look and they def. didn't do that. as soon as i got home and took off my makeup. but your right, at least i know what i don't want. lol.

I agree the eyes are to dark for a bride and lighter shade of pink looks a lot better. Good luck on your trial w/ MIA. BTW how much does MIA charge for her trials and the day of including hair and makeup.
