SO, since I am a huge fan of MAC makeup, I decided to do a trial since there was no cost and all you had to do was buy 4 products (which I do all the time anyway)
SO, I bring in 2 pictures of makeup that I like. They are very romantic, dewy looks. I explain to the girl that I totally dislike DARK eyes and that I want something not too heavy. I also say that I don't like dark pink lips--that I like my lips on the light side. She agreed.
ANYWAY she basically gave me smoky grey eyes that were totally DARK and nasty lipstick that was DARK!! I was so pissed. I repeatedly kept saying, this is dark--this is dark. Finally, I told her t make the lipstick a LIGHT pink. She winds up taking it up MAYBEEEE one notch. Still NOT what I wanted. Anyway, during the trial, she also urged me to try fake lashes. I didn't think she was going t charge me for them, AND SHE DID!!! If I knew Ii was going to pay $12 for lashes that I literally pulled off as soon as I got home, I wouldn't have done them in the first place. I also thought it was wrong of her to not mention the price of them from the get go. THIS is why I did not tip her, plus the fact that I had to wait 40 MINUTES for her even though I had an appt!!!!!
ANYWAY, I guess this was a good experience because now I know EXACTLY what I do NOT want and I cant wait for a trial with MIA on Monday now!!

i think you look gorgeous (before and after)! i really like it but i can see how it might look more like make up for clubbing than your wedding - some girls like a lot of make up though even for the wedding - i am torn - i dont know what look i want for the wedding and i have a trial on saturday so i really need to decide! but i think you look really pretty - its just not what you asked for!

I think you look GREAT....but I don't understand where you are coming from b/c its obvious that is not what you wanted! I personally love the smokey eye.....

I agree w.u! A- she should of told u the eyelashes cost extra and B- the eye make-up is way to much! Good luck at Mia im sure they will do what u want!

I can't believe she just did whatever w hen you told her what you wanted! Good thing for trials so you know you wont have her do it!! It does look pretty though!

Penny you are gorgeous but I agree- the makeup was def much too dark! I think you will be pleased with Mia. I told her everything I liked and didn't like and she really listened.

i know you are going to MIA but ou should also try trish mcevoy.. i think their products are amazing and they are good at making natural look glamorous

I agree...beautiful look if you are going out for ladies night, but not so much for your wedding. I am using M I A, but am not doing a makeup trial...just a hair trial. So, pleeeeease post your makeup trial with M I A, so I know what to expect. I have heard great things about her and would rather not spend the extra money on a makeup trial. I want it to look like I am wearing makeup, but not like a prostitute, lol.

MAC has a habit of doing that. Some mac make up artists also do weddings so they'll know how to do it but the others love doing this look.
I think you look beautiful but it wasnt the look you wanted and she should've listened to you. Plus its for a wedding so i understand why you want it a bit more toned down.
