My MIL sent me a picture of my DH and an ex-girlfriend!

My MIL is either extremely dense, or she's a total biatch.

I asked her to send me pics of my DH growing up for our wedding video. She sends us about 8 pics, and one of them is my DH with his arm around his college girlfriend...he dated her for about 2-3 years. My MIL knew her...so she can't say, 'I had no idea who she was, I thought it was a friend'.

I didn't say anything to her, it's not worth it, I really don't care...my DH says she probably didn't even look at the pics.

I just thought this would be an interesting addition to the boards today.

Has anyone else had something really bizarre or stupid like this done to them by their inlaws?

OMG, thats so mean. Did she actually think you would put his ex in your wedding video? Did she know what the pics were for? Do you get along with her? That is so mean!!

well, since my fi has only has 3 gf's (including me) his whole life, that has not happened. but my fmil has made some stupid comments about who is paying for the wedding. she thinks she is going to wind up paying for the whole thing. ha ha ha, i'll be lucky to get a dime from her, that's why i am not counting on her to put anything into this. i wouldn't pay it any mind.

OMG!

That's terrible!

Something sort of weird. For our 2 year (dating) anniversary, FH got me a little diamond ring shaped like a heart. It was kind of a promise ring. After I had it on and showed his mom, she grabbed it off of my finger and tried it on. And oohed and ahh over how perfect it is and asked where he got it so she could go buy the same one. I wanted to kill her.

Needless to say, when I showed her my e-ring, it was with a closed fist!

We 'get along' but I don't take her garbage.
My DH turned my first e-ring into pendant, and he bought me a larger diamond as a new e-ring (we'd been engaged for 3 years).

When MIL saw the new ring she was ANGRY! LIke her son shouldn't be 'spoiling' me. Someone in the family was saying that they wanted a pair of emerald cut diamond earrings, and I said those would be beautiful...she turns to me and says that I shouldn't get anymore jewelry for the rest of my life, that the ring should be enough.
I just laughed at her.
Thank god she's far far far away, and we see each other only three times a year.

She's always making retarded comments, but I don't have to deal with her on a daily or even weekly basis since she's not in NY.

Yup, Picture of Dh and his first girlfriend still show up in the house every now and then.

Yet, there are no wedding pictures of us and we got married in 2002.

My MIL likes to stir the pot.

Kathy there is a George Burns quote that says something like... happiness is having a loving family in another state...

We love that quote and I bet you can relate!

Related to another thread we had.... I think we should eliminate one of the more dead boards and start a FMIL/MIL board. Or a general 'Dealing with In-laws' board. It would be the hottest board on here!

Kathy...it could have been an oversight...

my MIL who has never liked my SIL (her other DIL) got her a gift set for Christmas...

there was a name on it (brand or something like that)- that happened to be the name of the girl that my BIL dated while the 2 were divorced (they have remarried)

but I truly believe that my MIL meant nothing of it...

but either way...I would have DH call her and bring it up...
