My MoH Dropped Out But Not Her Fault!!

My MoH Dropped Out But Not Her Fault!!

Most of you know that my friend Kim who was my MoH, was pregnant and gave birth on January 9th to a beautiful baby girl.

We had plans for her to just buy her dress off the rack at David's Bridal but she went to the store and literally had the dress in her hands and ready to pay for it - she got a call from her boss that her maternity leave is up on my wedding day and that she has to go back to work!

Needless to say I am upset and I feel like curling up and crying my eyes out atm.. she tried everything to negotiate with her employer and nothing worked.. I am totally at a loss now.

It is not so much that she dropped out- I told her time and time again that I wouldn't be upset that she couldn't be in the bridal party - what ticks me off the most is that she won't even be at the wedding because of this nonsense!!
Her husband is still going since he's been my friend since I was 10 years old. I met Kim in college and actually introduced her to her husband.

I'm just totally upset and I don't know what to do- I am not planning on replacing her (I will just 'promote' one of my BM to MoH but not get another BM) but my heart is hurting that she can't make it

Im so sorry!

Its one of those things that you knew could happen, but never thought would happen!

Im so sorry. I wish there was something I could do!

What does she do that she cant make the wedding? Can she take a day loss, or have a personal day she can take?

Can she try speaking with Human Resources about this???? I feel like since your wedding is on a Sunday that they will ave to extend it until Monday...Technically with FMLA cant she get an extra month?

She explained to her boss that she was part of the bridal party but she works for an airline so they work all week pretty much- turns out the day that she goes back (my wedding day) she has to fly down to North Carolina for a training week so it's not like she can just call out sick or take a personal day. Pretty much they said that if she takes that day she will lose her job With three kids to feed I can't let her do that.

Also she already took her extension with the FMLA..she was on leave for like three months now because of complications with her pregnancy.

I feel so Bridezilla-ish about it atm that I want to just go down to the airport and yell at people... or throw something at them.

you are not being bridezillaish at all!!!

Its not like you are demanding that she cut her hair a certain length!

this is something that would hurt anybride...

its not like u demanded she be in the wedding or shes no longer ur friend...you have been very mature and understanding...and are rightfully hurt.

She even offered to her boss to work two months worth of weekends just to get this one day for my wedding and they still freaking said no to her.. they just stink!!

Grrr.... idk why people have no compassion!

I had also told her that I didn't want the MoH gift I had given her back- that I appreciated how hard she tried for me and has always been there for me.

I know - on top of everything else FH is being insensitive about it as well- he thinks that she planned to do this all along since she didn't have her dress yet (because she was preggers at the time we all went dress shopping).

He told me that it's my problem and I just have to deal with it... geez he's a PITA atm.

I just remembered I have to call the florist and cancel a BM bouquet now that I have to change things and promote a BM to be MoH ugh more things to do.
