can you believe it?? They didn't know it was supposed to be put in the freezer...and they ate it. Oh well..we'll just have to have it made again I guess. The cake was REALLY good I have to admit. Chocolate cake w/canole filling....YUUUUUMMMY.

My grandma ate ours, too, while we were on the HM. She didn't know it was a tradition to save! It's okay, for our 1 yr, we went out a bought a cake that was the same flavor!

the same happened to me. my mom stayed with my son, while we were on our hm. i came back to NO CAKE.... mine was also chocolate. i guess there's something about chocolate cake.
like some of the posters have mentioned, year-old cake might not be very tasty

if u wrap it good, it will stay fresh. we put our box in the freezer. i put two layers of tin foil around it. a yr later, the cake was yummy

i'm not sure which happened first, my eyes lighting up, my mouth watering, or my heart exploding.
that sounds amazing, and also unsafe for me to keep around. But just in case, where on earth did you find it, and do they make non wedding cakes like that? (I'm having a kosher wedding, so that may not work so well...)

ew one year cake sounds gross...just save your topper and surprise your hubby with a replica little cake, it will taste better and be just as special!

Awww, same thing happened to me...My wedding cake top came in a big box w/ a bow--My parents ate it the day after the wedding and gave a piece to the neighbor!!!!! I laugh now, but boy was I mad. My cake top was gross though :

They didn't..they thought they could eat it and honestly couldn't help themselves lol. Our cake was made by the baker at our hall. He did a really good job. We got alot of compliments on the cake.
