My Mom, My Best Friend......update

Well yesterday I got a phone call that I have feared all my life. My 14 year old nephew called me at 2 pm and said he called the ambulance because my mom was nonresponsive. The brought her to the emergency room thinking she had a stroke. They did an CT Scan and found that she had a anyrsum on her brain that had burst.

My brother and I are still living in Florida so we hopped on the 1st plane to Rochester. It was the worst 8 hours of my life trying to get home.

When we finally got to the hospital at 9:30pm they told us that she had surgery and now we just have to wait to see what happens.

Some light of good news: Her surgeon is one of the best in the country, she is responding to commands such as sqeezing our hands, giving a thumbs up and she opened her eyes today.

she is in an induced coma and is on a vent.

I am soooooo thankful my nephew was home with her and he knew exactly what to do. He is an angel. The dr's told my dad if she had got to the hospital 10 minutes later she would have died.

Please girls pray for her. She is my best friend in the whole world and i need her to make it through this!

This all still feels so unreal to me. like im going to wake up and none of it ever happened.

Please pray! Thats all we can do now and i need your help.

OMG!! You your mom and your family are in my thoughts and prayers! I am so sorry you are going through this now.

I am hoping for a quick and speedy recovery for your mom. Hang in there, I can understand it must be hard. But with the love and support from your family you will get through this as well as your mom!!!!!

OMG, I think that's truly a nightmare for most people, I'm sorry you had to go through this But i'm really glad that she's responsive and that your nephew saved her in time..does she have any health problems?

Your mom, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

As for your newphew that is a mature 14 year old who thought quickly and rationally -- that is a situation that some adults may have been able to handle.
