My Mom's Family

So my mom's cousin hasn't RSVPd yet and we talked to her today and she still doesn't know. Normally my reaction to this would be its rude, if you don't know don't come. We are weeks past our RSVP date. But she lives down in FL and doesn't really have the money to come but wants to try. Her mom who RSVPd no might try too. If they don't come to the wedding my mom will have absolutely 0 blood relatives (besides me) at the wedding. How sad is that? She is an only child. Her dad's only sister died before having kids so all she has is her mom's nieces and nephews and since none live on LI we are not really close to any of them. Of those we did invite most of them RSVPd no.

I feel sad for her. That has to be very hard to have no family members at your only daughters wedding.

Awe.. that has to be really hard.. Hopefully she has some amazing friends and amazing FIL's to be there instead.. She is going to be so happy for you on your day and I am sure that is all she needs!!

I have the complete opposite problem. If my mom introduced me to aunts and uncles I didn't know I wouldn't be suprised.. they are everywhere!

My FH has a similar situation. The only people from his family that are coming to the wedding are his mom and grandma (both live in FL). I feel so bad that he is only going to have 2 blood relatives there.

that's so sad. I think we're going to have the same issue with FHs father. His father's brother passed away about 15 years ago and never married, had any kids, etc. to your mom!
