Re: My mother..
That's what I told her!! We'll see what happens. It's all because she went dress shopping without me. Gr..

Re: My mother..
My mom is wearing my exact wedding colors in her dress - its navy blue and toward the bottom of the dress, it fades to a light blue in a few spots (pic in album). I think it's great, but at the same time, when my MOH dropped out, I asked my Mom to stay up at the altar with me after she walks me down the aisle - I kinda renamed her Mom of Honor ...

Yea, my situation is definitely a little different than yours. Did her mom match her wedding party? Maybe you should find an old wedding picture to prove her wrong ...

LOL, no my Gma didn't match my Mom's party...I think this is just a new 'thing' she is harping on now. And the funny thing about is the dress she picked out looks gorgeous LOL. But I am not letting her get away with this one!

Re: My mother..
OK this almost happened to me lol I was having my girls in a very dark blue (midnight) and FMIL tells me - before I even tell her my colors that she wants to wear dark blue!!!! She literally said 'I know its your moms choice first but I really would love to wear a dark blue' So i said 'Ummm actually my girls are probably wearing blue' and she didnt seem to really care LOLOLOL
Needless to say, I changed the color of my BP so I dont care now! When we were dress shopping, I picked another theme altogether LOL
But yea, its annoying!!!! YOU should be the one picking the colors, and if she wants the same color, do a different shade for sure!

Re: My mother..
My mom is wearing a purple dress and my girls are wearing eggplant purple. It's not as dark as the eggplant but still similar. My mom fell in love w/ the dress and never asks for much and she had such a hard time finding a dress, that I didn't mind one bit. She's done so much for me I felt too bad to tell her she can't...but I def thought about how it would look, but I don't really care that much at the end of the day. It's all personal preference.
Now if FMIL tried to wear the same color I would flip out(and she already tried to wear white!) Biatch

a lot of moms think this for some reason
tell her you want her to 'stand out and shine' with a DIFFERENT color

Re: My mother..
My girls are wearing Tiffany Blue and my mom is wearing Navy Blue... it's in the same family and I am happy with that... I DEF would not be happy if she was wearing the same color!

Re: My mother..
My mom wore the exact same color as the bridesmaids in my brothers wedding. It looked nice. She almost got the same color this time too! Haha! I talked her into navy as it's more flattering than bright orange! Now all three moms will be in different shades of blue.

Re: My mother..
My Mom is wearing a muted/silvery/purple gown that is completely beaded. I LOVE IT!! My BM's are alternating purple and blue. Also FH's Dad and my Dad are wearing a light greyish purple tie wither their tux. I like that our parents 'go' with the bridal party and color theme. I don't think there will be any mistake as to who your bridal party is. If it were the exact shade or similar dress I might not love that... but I am happy to as much purple as possible LOL Technically I feel they are part of my wedding party... I wanted her in a shade of purple
