My Mother-In-Law

My Mother-In-Law

Well I booked my RH yesterday and basically I have gotten nothing but hell from my Mother-In-Law to be because I didn't include her in the decision making process. My FH is mad because I called her to tell her when he said he didn't want to say anything. Honestly the way I am feeling like this whole thing is a big mistake and I have been crying all day. I don't even know what to do!!

Sry your so upset. Is your fmil paying/contributing to the cost of the RH/wedding? If shes not then she gets no say so. If she is then I can see why she wanted to be included BUT it is still your day and your ultimately your decision. She has no right to be so upset.
Try not to stress. You obviously booked your placebecause you loved it. I wouldnt let anyone ruin that for u.

Re: My Mother-In-Law

I think mother-in-laws were created to give us hell!!!

I'm sorry you're so upset, but just try and remember that it's YOUR and FH's day- no one else's. You're not going to ever be able to please everyone and people are going to take things personally. Don't let it cloud your vision or make you doubt your decisions because this is the one time in your life you're allowed to be selfish!!

I hope everything works out- just take a deep breath and vent away!!!

I couldn't have said it better!
I'm so sorry o hear that you're so upset because of her. Most of us gave had the FMIL vent, so you're not alone.
When you have calmed down a bit, try talking to your F H

Re: My Mother-In-Law

:( Sorry you're going through that - but everyone is right. If she isn't paying for it she has no say. And even if she is, there's obviously reasoning as to why you left her out of the decision making process and keep those thoughts in your head. Right now it's super upsetting but just think of the wedding and the end result. See, my FMIL is super nice and isn't involved much, it's his sisters who think they're his mother's that give me a hard time but I've decided to accept that, step up when I need to, otherwise leave them out. It's all about just accepting you can't please everyone and it's ultimately your day. I hope you feel a little better, less crying! eep yourself distracted and honestly, let your FH deal with his mom..

I mean when u look at the RH thats really for u and the FH not her...shes not getting married u are and the BOTH of u have to like it not her ...I would reallly have your FH talk to her ...

That really sucks, sorry to hear it!
I agree with the girls, if they aren't paying...then they really dont have a say. Only my FH and I went to RHs and picked....then again we're paying for the wedding

Sorry your going through this. My FMIL always as stuff to say but in the end she knows it mine and FH decision. My parents are paying for the hall (which I was nervous about) but I was lucky that they really didn't give us any issues they told us how much they could offer us and we looked in that price range. Hopefully all of it gets better quickly and you can enjoy planning again.

Thank you guys so much! You are all wonderful people! I spoke to her today in a calmer enviroment and she had said to me she wants to pay for her guests. I am fine with that and after thinking calmly she likes the place as well. Now our only issue we may have to switch rooms cause both sides wanna invite more ppl AAAHHH!

I'm glad you and your FMIL are okay now. The rooms are beautiful in Jericho Terrace. Have you seen the Dome room?

I am glad things worked out for you!!! JT is beautiful, i had initially booked there, keep in miind going up in guarentee means a lower per plate cost. use that to work your cost or have them upgarde the heck out of your package.

FMIL can be tough cookies, but like the ladies said in the end its you and FH's day, and that is all that matters.

Re: My Mother-In-Law

Really a lower per plate cost with a higher guarantee?? They never said that to me...hmmm I will have to have someone come with me and have him talk to us. FMIL wants to see the place and naturally I am fine with that. She wants to talk to the BM to get him to throw in stuff and I don't know what to do. I am not sure how much higher the guest list would be but for the Oak Room the max is at 146 and the guy said that if we have 146 ppl it would be a tight squeeze. I think we are only inviting 146 at the very most. I don't know what to do. The guy said we could upgrade to the Dome Room but he said its a 175 person minimum uggggh I am sooo confused!!
