my My Gatsby experience
I just posted this on a comment on the 08 boards but I thought I'd post it here too so 'buyers can beware'
I originally loved My Gatsby. The pocketfold sample I ordered and received was of high quality. I went ahead and ordered my invites with confidence. When they arrived (for some crazy reason) I just never really checked them. I didn't think I had too. When my mother and I began to put the invites together, we noticed several problems -- things that their quality control department should have picked up on:
1. The pocketfold flap was cut crooked -- are you kidding?
2. The RSVP cards had some kind of weird sand on them -- I had to individually wipe off each one.
3. The glue that holds the pocket part together (where you put the inserts) was either not strong enough or too much time elapsed between the time they smeared on the glue and when they decided to attach it. As a result, some of the inserts got stuck to the glue and were IMPOSSIBLE to remove. Of course I didn't notice it until I tried to remove them -- after we had already done all the inserts. Sometimes, small bits of black paper came away on the insert. Thank God I ordered extra everything.
4, It almost looks like they used a sharp instrument to score for the folds -- some of the folds looked jagged. Like it was half preforated
5. I almost forget -- two of the invite cards were blank. (WTH) I also remember that the flap was supposed to look like an upside down 'v' but the ones I received didn't have that and were straight across -- or should I say almost straight across.
They weren't cheap -- My Gatsby blows.
I expected more --- their lack of quality control was just a head ache and more work for me and my mother.
I haven't complained yet but I will.
